Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the firm said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into claims about questionable actions involving young women.

The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.
